Feng Tay Enterprises Co., Ltd. was established in 1971 and focuses mainly on producing athletic shoes. Its headquarters, primarily for product development and human resources functions, is located at Yunlin Science and Industrial Park in Taiwan. Feng Tay Group currently has around 140,000 employees and is one of the long-lasting shoe manufacturing partners of NIKE.
To uphold the spirit of building the base in Taiwan and expanding operations in the world, we established Fujian Lifeng Footwear Industry Development Co., Ltd. in China in 1988, and have since continued to expand our factories in Indonesia, Vietnam and India.
Research and development is one of our core competencies. In 1992, Feng Tay Group collaborated with NIKE to establish NIKE's first Asia-based shoe manufacturing research and development center. Our efforts include breakthroughs in product structure, design, materials, and manufacturing processes. We have built key technical capabilities in footwear manufacturing such as molds, soles, and accessories, and developed many classic and innovative shoes. In recent years, we have engaged in research and development on automated manufacturing technology. To break through the dependence of traditional footwear manufacturing on manual operation, we have created an automation department to develop the integration of automated machines and systems. An automation equipment assembly plant was established at the Headquarters to make process automation equipment in 2016. Automated assembly lines were then set up at factories in China in 2017 to raise the production capability by continuously improving our automated production process.
Feng Tay Group started with shoe manufacturing. We have since expanded our operations into development and production of casual shoes, inline skates, snowboard boots, soccer balls, golf balls, backpacks, and ice hockey sticks, helmets and equipment. In addition, we operate the only authorized factory to produce air soles for our primary customer Nike.
Even in different product fields, we still exert our technical research and development expertise and strive to become the primary partner of our major customers.
